Ahwazi Rights Activist, Jabbar Yabbari, 46 Admitted to Hospital

Ahwazi human rights defender and civil rights activist Jabbar Yabbari was admitted to hospital one month after his abduction on a street by plain-clothes intelligence services agents , sources told EAHRO.

Mr. Yabbari, who has heart conditions, has been detained in unknown intelligence services facilities since his abduction on 22 March 2012. It's feared that he's being tortured by intelligence services. He had been arrested and imprisoned at least twice before in 1980's and April 2005 for Arab rights activities. 

Last week this organisation (EAHRO) received and published names of 27 Ahwazis, including Mr. Jabbari, who were  arrested by authorities during the last past few weeks leading up to the April 15 anniversary of  2005 Intifada.
